Hi there I have a custom field set-up under advanced search. My custom field is the Property Zip Code with ‘LIKE’ parameter set.

The function works well, except it does not work if the zip code is together as one word.

e.g. if the property zip code is E14 5RT (UK Post Code)

The advance search will find the property if i put in:

    – E14
    – 5RT
    – E14 5RT

However it does not work if i put the zip code together like this:

    E145RT – with no spaces.

    How can we resolve this?

    Thank You

    Hi Kayz,

This is correct what are you describing.

The space between is read as a character.

If there is no space, the system thinks that it is a different field value and when looking for matches it finds none.

If correct is E145RT – add this value for ZIP (not E145 RT)

    Hope the above makes sense.

    Thank you,

    I understand.

But my website visitors will not understand this concept because in the UK all Zip code have space. So if anybody is searching for property with space in the Zip code they will not find the property.

I think it is a major problem if users are not able to find the property they need. The correct way to write the ZIP code in the UK is with a space.

Will WP Residence team fix this flaw because it is something fundamental to find properties, otherwise it defeats the objective of the WP Residence concept.

    Thank You
