    Hey Anna

Can you please explain how to did the frontpage property listing on http://wpestatetheme.org/. You get latest rent, latest sale and after that search all properties…

I have to make a custom frontpage right and place it as static?

    Best regards

    Hi Joakim,

I used the latest recent items shortcode (from v2.03) and the advanced search shortcode.

You have to create a page (default template), add the shortcodes then select from Setting-Reading that page as homepage.

If you have v2.03, just copy paste this code and make the edits to match your domain IDs. You can install HH columns plugin to see the IDs faster.

    [container_content title=”Latest Properties for Rent” border=””][recent_items type=”properties” category_ids=”” action_ids=”2″ city_ids=”” area_ids=”” number=”3″ rows=”1″ link=”http://wpestatetheme.org/property_action_category/rentals/”][/container_content]

    [container_content title=”Latest Properties for Sale” border=””][recent_items type=”properties” category_ids=”” action_ids=”3″ city_ids=”” area_ids=”” number=”3″ rows=”1″ link=”http://wpestatetheme.org/properties-list/”][/recent_items][/container_content]

    Search All Properties

    [advanced_search][/advanced_search][spacer height=”10″]

Let me know if you need help.

    Hey again

Once having made that page, do I put that as a static frontpage then??

Yes, you do that – as shown here http://help.wpestatetheme.org/#home_page

    Hi again

Ok, got it working, however the images are much bigger then the ones on your page, which means only one image per row even even though i set it to three…

Also the google map is small size compared to yours, however I guess that has to do with the general settings of google maps in the theme settings..

    Hi Joakim,

The Recent Items shortcode is very flexibile. If you ask for 3 properties, but you only have 2 or 1 in that category specified, the thumbs of the properties available resize to available space.

Just make sure you have as many properties as you ask for.

For the homepage google maps size, use the Google Maps Settings – Show Small Maps on Homepage – set to no and save.

    Thank you

One last thing regaring this issue. How did you get the “+more listings” under each headline?

    Hi Joakim,

The “read more” link is in the shortcode

    For example

    in this shortcode

    [container_content title=”Recent Articles” border=””][recent_items type=”properties” category_ids=”5″ action_ids=”2″ city_ids=”131″ area_ids=”” number=”2″ rows=”1″ link=”http://wpestatetheme.org/properties-list/”][/recent_items]

This is the read more link part

    Hope this helps!
