We will release WP Residence 1.12 this week with a new feature you may find useful. As explained in a previous post, you can attach an image to a city or area. Based on that feature, we created a new shortcode called “places shortcode”. With this add-on you will be able to list the cities/neighborhoods your site/agency covers. Here is an image with the shortcode in action. places_shortcode

WpRentals
One of the strongest feature of the WpRentals is the ability to set custom prices for certain periods + the option to set discount price for users that rent for more than 7 or 30 days. To access these options you need to go at “add new property/edit property pages” – in the price section. custom-price1 On that page you can set a price per day – that will be applied as the default price for all days. The second option is to set a different price per day if you want to offer a lower price for the ones that rent for more than 7 days. And there is the third price option that is the price per day for the ones that rent for more than 30 days. There are also 2 extra “price ad-dons”: the cleaning fee and city fee. These values will be added to the total invoice. If you want to set custom prices for some special days (or periods) you can use the Price adjustments feature calendar. You just need to select the start date and the end date and a pop up window will appear. In there you will have the option to set a new price for that period. custom-price2 custom-price3

The 1.12 version of the WpResidence will come with a new & exciting feature for taxonomies pages. In admin you would be able to set a header image and a tagline for each  property taxonomy. Beside that , and this is the most interesting part , you would be able to “include” a page in the space between header and the list of properties. image_taxonomy_admin This option will open new horizons for your taxonomy page. For example you can build a “Manhattan” taxonomy page with a custom header and tagline , put a extended description of this area, insert some shortcodes there and of course list the properties in that area. This options will do wonders for your SEO In the end i want to mention that the taxonomy description (the one you set in admin) will be set as description meta tag in the header of the page (also very good for SEO). image_taxonomy

We are getting close to release 1.12 version , but until then here is a new feature that will be found in this update. Since 1.12 property we introduced taxonomies for agents(same as for properties). So admin will have the option to assign an agent to any categories, city, neighborhood etc. agent_shortcode_admin To make use of this new feature we  also developed a new shortcode for agents. In this way you will be able to create pages with agent list assigned on specific  categories, actions, cities etc. agent_shortcode

On version 1.12 (which is work in progress) we added a new feature: traffic statistics for property page. Users will no have the option to see how many time the page was viewed since it was published . And since this may not be enough we added the option to see the no of visits per day(we will show the latest 14 days). You can see how it would look in the image below. property-unit-stats These stats will also be present in user dashboard (here we will show the no of visits for the last 30 days) and of course admin will have the option to show or not the stats on front website. We are pretty sure you have many improvements ideas so please feel free to share them.

For 1.12 version we developed a new and exciting feature : Image slider in property unit. How this feature works. For each property we take all the images and make a bootstrap slider. Since loading times are big concern we also implemented a lazy load mechanism: in the beginning we load only the featured image for all the properties. After the page content is loaded and displayed we start loading the rest of the images without the user noticing it. property_unit_slider So far gtmetrix.com tests are showing the same results for a page with property slider compared with a page that don’t have this option enabled. We still need to get clear on one item. Your advice on this matter will be appreciated Should we disable the default loading if we detect the user is on a mobile phone (in order to save bandwidth) ? Instead we can do a lazy loading when the user load the next image sliders. Feel free to share your opinion on wpestate facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/wpestate
